Gary Chamber General Membership Meeting
Area musicians are invited to sign up now to compete in Porter County Unplugged, a benefit for Mental Health America of Porter County . Acoustic performers will compete for cash prizes, with audience votes determining the winners. The top awards will be $200, $100 and $50. Porter County Unplugged will be from 5 to 8 p.m. May 17 at The Franklin House, 58 Campbell St. , Valparaiso . This is a 21 and older event. M & M productions and Ross Music Theatre will host an open house at their Studio Theatre, 227 Center Street, Hobart, on May 17th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. Visitors are welcome as M & M and Ross will showcase summer musical and stage productions as well as upcoming classes planned for the summer and fall.

Edgewater Systems plans a corporate luncheon to raise awareness and bring public attention to the needs of the clients served on Thursday, May 29, 2008. “Going the Distance for Good Mental Health,” will be the moniker for an afternoon that promises to be enlightening and inspirational. Our guest speaker will be the two-time Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Greg Louganis from the USA Diving Team.
National Mental Health Month is celebrated in May, and human service providers everywhere will be touting the invaluable services the industry provides to those in need of behavioral healthcare.
