Please prepare a song not from the show. Have music in the correct key. No a cappella singing or taped accompaniment will be allowed. You may be asked to sing or read from the script. The show calls for 6 men and 2 women ages 16-60. All roles open. All types and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. The production will be directed by Sally Selwan. Valerie Webdell will be the vocal/orchestral director.
The Towle Community Theater will also hold an Audition Workshop in preparation for the “The Fantasticks” audition on Saturday, July 7 at 7pm. The workshop allows you ask any questions and view the script and vocal cuttings used at the audition. Whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned veteran, the workshop is designed to make everyone as comfortable as possible with the audition process.
“The Fantasticks” is the longest-running musical in the world, and with good reason: at the heart of its breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers. The result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time. The musical features the hit song, “Try to Remember”.
