Vaping rates have skyrocketed among teens. The Center for Disease Control has reported over 2,400 hospitalized cases of lung injuries and 52 deaths associated with vaping. This presentation will provide information for parents and teens:
The health risks associated with e-cigarette and tobacco use
Recognizing different e-cigarette devices
How nicotine is addictive and harmful to the brain
What parents need to know
Legal and school issues for minors
How we can all help
The presenters will include Laura Arent, Franciscan Health Tobacco Specialist, and Irene Boone-Phillips, Program Coordinator for the Lake County Community Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition.
