Towle Theater’s longest standing youth program, Towle Youth Theater Ensemble (TYTE) is scheduled to perform its first ever summer showcase. The young people involved in TYTE come from all over Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland to participate in the theater’s rigorous ensemble-focused program and are excited to share their individual talents with the public.
FREE STREET THEATER TO STAGE 50 PERFORMANCES IN ONE DAY (June 23rd) AS PART OF ITS 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its founding, Free Street Theater will stage “50 in 50: A City-Wide Theatrical Flash Mob,” spanning Chicago’s 50 wards to create a remarkable city-wide theatrical production. The company has brought together 10 multidisciplinary theater artists from across Chicago, including its own artists and ensembles, to lead teams of five to seven performers in creating short pieces to be presented as pop-up performances in each of Chicago’s 50 wards.
The International Music Foundation presents the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts. Enjoy free weekly classical music performances in Preston Bradley Hall, located on the 3rd floor of the Chicago Cultural Center.
Join us June 26 as we welcome Trio Appassionata, Lydia Chernicoff (Violin), Andrea Casarrubios (Cello) and Ronaldo Rolim (Piano), performing the music of Andrea Casarrubios and Dmitri Shostakovich.
