The Schaumburg Boomers have signed right-handed pitcher Jack Snyder, bringing back a familiar face who previously appeared for the club during the 2021 season before advancing through the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
Snyder originally joined the Boomers in 2021, posting a 2.14 ERA with 30 strikeouts across 21 innings while helping anchor the Schaumburg pitching staff. His performance earned the attention of Major League Baseball scouts, and his contract was subsequently purchased by the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
The 26-year-old spent parts of four seasons in the Rays' farm system, reaching the Double-A level. Across his professional career in affiliated baseball, Snyder appeared in 74 games and recorded 102 strikeouts over 104 innings. His strongest season came in 2022 when he split time between Charleston and Bowling Green, compiling a 7-2 record with a 4.08 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 57.1 innings.
Prior to beginning his professional career, Snyder pitched collegiately at Western Carolina University, where he made 53 appearances and struck out 70 batters over three seasons.
Now returning to Schaumburg after his time in affiliated baseball, Snyder adds valuable experience and familiarity to the Boomers pitching staff as the club continues its season.
