The Indiana State Police (ISP) proudly recognizes National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, honoring the dedicated professionals who serve as the vital link between the public and emergency services. From April 14 to April 20, 2024, ISP acknowledges the invaluable contributions of our telecommunications personnel who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all Hoosiers.

Telecommunicators play a crucial role in emergency response, providing critical assistance during times of distress and uncertainty. They are the calm voice on the other end of the line, guiding callers through emergencies and dispatching the necessary resources to the scene.

Lieutenant Tom McKee, Commander of the Indiana State Police Lafayette District, expressed gratitude for the unwavering commitment and professionalism of ISP's telecommunications team. "During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our telecommunicators for their unwavering dedication and service to the people of Indiana," said Lt. McKee.

The theme of this year's National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, "Dedicated, Strong, Essential," aptly reflects the resilience and fortitude demonstrated by telecommunicators in the face of adversity. Their dedication ensures that help is always just a phone call away.

As we celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Indiana State Police encourages all citizens to take a moment to thank the telecommunicators who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our communities safe.
