Chicago Fire FC II (5-6-4-0) fell 4-2 on the road Sunday at Crown Legacy FC (10-2-3-2) || Omari Glasgow returned from international duty with Guyana to score both Fire goals

The Gary SouthShore RailCats (16-25) kept the pressure on throughout their Sunday series finale at Shaw Park, but the Winnipeg Goldeyes (15-24) had an answer for every threat as they walked away with a 7-3 win.

LaPorte County- On Saturday (6/24/2023) morning at approximately 8:37 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the area of I-94 eastbound at the 36.4 mile-marker to investigate a two-vehicle crash.  This location is 2 miles east of the Michigan City exit at U.S. 421.

Preliminary investigation shows that a white 2023 Kia had become disabled in the inside shoulder emergency lane. It was parked and had its hazard lights activated.  The driver of the Kia had contacted roadside service for the vehicle and was waiting for its arrival.

​​​​​​​Edwin Mateo hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning to enable the visiting Sussex County Miners to grab a late 7-5 win over the Schaumburg Boomers in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Wintrust Field.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (14-24) received a dominant pitching performance from their three arms to grace the mound, and their offense backed it up late to serve the Gary SouthShore RailCats (16-24) a 6-1 loss.

Chicago Fire FC (5-6-8, 23 points) picked up its second straight win on the road, defeating Sporting Kansas City (5-10-6, 21 points) 1-0 on Saturday night at Children’s Mercy Park. Fabian Herbers’ goal in the second half proved to be the difference between the two teams, while Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady recorded his third-career shutout with the Fire.

Chase Dawson tripled three times to set the team’s single game record and jump to the top of the league leaderboard, a familiar spot for the man who set a league record with 24 last season as the Boomers streaked to a 10-3 win over the Sussex County Miners on Saturday night at Wintrust Field.
