**** Recommended **** A big thank you to Writers Theatre for graciously allowing me to attend a performance of "A Distinct Society" near the end of the run.  It would have been a tragedy to miss this gripping human drama.  Based on a true story, this one-act play packs an emotional wallop!  I have to admit I had a tear or two in my eye at the end.  4 Spotlights

Chicago Fire FC II (6-7-6-1) saw their undefeated streak come to an end in a 3-2 loss on the road against Orlando City B (10-7-2-1) at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. Midfielders Billy Hency and Luka Prpa each recorded a goal for Chicago.

In the final game at The Steel Yard in July, the Gary SouthShore RailCats (26-36) fell in Sunday’s series finale to the Chicago Dogs (31-31) 7-1.

Three homers helped power the Schaumburg Boomers to their fifth shutout of the season, a 7-0 blanking of the Trois-Riveres Aigles on Sunday to capture two-of-three in the series at Wintrust Field

After waiting through a rain delay of 2:21, the Trois-Rivieres Aigles tallied a 9-7 win over the Schaumburg Boomers in 10 innings in the middle game of the series at Wintrust Field.

In a game that only lasted six-and-a-half innings due to rain, the Gary SouthShore RailCats (26-35) washed away a three-game losing streak and beat the Chicago Dogs 2-0 (30-31) on Saturday afternoon.
