Community policing is an important part of the Munster Police Department’s efforts in not only preventing crime but also in building a strong line of trust and communication with our community members.

This Friday morning (3/4/2022) at approximately 5:43 a.m., troopers from the Indiana State Police Lowell Post were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash that had occurred on the southbound side of I-65 at the 243.1 mile-marker, which is 3 miles north of the Lowell exit. The crash involved two semi-tractors and resulted in injuries to both drivers.

On March 4th, four investigators from the Indiana State Police (ISP) received awards from the United States Secret Service (USSS) for their use of training received at the National Computer Forensic Institute (NCFI) in aiding in their complex and highly technical investigations.
