Inspired by David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust persona and the theatrical glamour of 1970s glam rock, Dunes Arts Summer Theatre will celebrate its 75th anniversary and look toward the future with its annual fundraising gala, Stardust 2101: The Next 75 Years. Benefiting the Dunes Arts Foundation, the event takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 10 p.m. CT (7 to 11 p.m. ET) at The Great Hall at Purdue University Northwest, 1401 South US 421, Westville, Ind.

Stardust 2101: The 75th Anniversary Season dunesARTS Annual Gala“The Dunes Arts Foundation was formed in 1951 with a big dream to bring a taste of Hollywood to Michigan City,” says Artistic Director Steve Scott. “Seventy-five years later we have a lot to celebrate. In addition to audience and critical acclaim for this summer’s productions including the run of the popular musical Avenue Q, a concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar, our 4th annual New Plays Festival, and continuing affiliations with the Safe Harbor program for children and the Holdcraft Center, we have grown our series of classes for pre-teens and teenagers. Stardust 2101: The Next 75 Years will celebrate all of these accomplishments while looking ahead to our 2027 season and the next 75 years.”

The evening will feature cocktails, dinner, an open bar and live entertainment by a vocal trio performing music by David Bowie and fellow 1970s icons, including Cher, Elton John and Queen. Guests are invited to embrace the glam rock theme in their attire, though themed dress is optional. A silent auction and raffles will raise additional funds for the Dunes Arts Foundation.
