Macerich's Fashion Outlets of Chicago, located at 5220 Fashion Outlets Way in Rosemont, will get guests in the holiday spirit with the return of its immersive visit with Santa: “Santa HQ,” and popular 24-hour Black Friday event, “Fashionably Late.”
In partnership with HGTV, Santa HQ is scheduled to open for the 2019 holiday season Friday, November 8. The return of Santa will be welcomed with a special “Jamming in my Jammies” event at the shopping center from 5 to 8 p.m. Shoppers are invited to visit Fashion Outlets of Chicago that evening in their pajamas to get at first-look at the 2019 Santa HQ attraction and enjoy complimentary holiday treats, live music, activities and more. Those who purchase a Santa HQ photo package during the event will also receive a free 5x7 printed photo.
Welcoming families and children of all ages, Santa HQ offers the opportunity to experience the magic of Santa’s workshop through innovative and interactive digital activities. This modern version of a visit with Santa utilizes digital tools to offer an enhanced social media experience in an augmented reality environment for families to enjoy. Throughout their visit, guests can use the workshop’s magic mirror to transform into one of Santa’s elves, virtually change their elf’s outfits, receive customized “Magic Mirror” collector cards, and find out where they land on Santa’s list with the Naughty or Nice O’Meter. Santa HQ will be open seven days a week through December 24. Operating hours are:
- Mondays through Thursdays: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sundays in November: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sundays in December: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Special holiday hours include:
- Thursday, November 28: Closed for Thanksgiving
- Sunday, December 15: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Sunday, December 22: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 24: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Families are also invited to bring their furry friends to take part in photos with Santa during Fashion Outlets of Chicago’s “Pet Nights.” Every Monday from November 11 to December 16, cats and dogs are welcome to join their owners for photos with Santa from 6 to 8 p.m. Participating pet owners are encouraged to park on P2 (second level) of the parking garage and enter the center by Helzberg Diamonds and Converse to easily access Santa HQ.
The activities within Santa HQ are free. Fashion Outlets of Chicago will also offer a variety of photo packages. Reservations to visit the experience can be made in advance starting in October at FashionOutletsofChicago.com/santahq.
Back for 2019, the city’s fashionistas are invited to shop off their Thanksgiving dinners during Fashion Outlets of Chicago’s “Fashionably Late” 24-hour Black Friday shopping event, beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, November 28 and running through 10 p.m. Friday, November 29. With more than 130 designer outlets offering incredible Black Friday savings alongside Chicago’s hottest DJs spinning chart-topping hits, this 24-hour party is a not-to-be-missed affair. Fashionably Late shoppers are invited to come in their most festive holiday pajamas!
Throughout the month of November, Fashion Outlets of Chicago shoppers can participate in a holiday pajama contest facilitated through the shopping center’s Instagram account. Beginning Friday, November 1, Instagram users are invited to upload photos wearing their most festive holiday pajamas and tag Fashion Outlets of Chicago in the post, with the hashtag #FOCJammyJam. One winner will be chosen each Friday in November based on the creativity of their pajamas. Winners will be contacted via Instagram. The prize package will include a Fashion Outlets of Chicago gift card, Savings Pass, and/or gifts from Fashion Outlets’ retailers.
