The Governor’s Public Health Commission will meet Thursday, May 19, to review proposed recommendations surrounding public health funding, the delivery of childhood and adolescent health services, and emergency preparedness as it continues its work to develop a final report for submission this summer.
The meeting will run from 1 to 4 p.m. (12 to 3 p.m. CDT) in the History Reference Room (Room 211) of the Indiana State Library, 315 W. Ohio St., in Indianapolis. Proceedings will be livestreamed and available online at https://www.youtube.com/c/IndianaDepartmentofHealth.
Governor Eric J. Holcomb established the 15-member commission in August to study Indiana’s public health system and make recommendations for improvements. The commission is co-chaired by former State Health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe, who now serves as president and CEO of the CDC Foundation, and former state Sen. Luke Kenley. Current State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG, serves as secretary, while former Congresswoman Susan Brooks serves as a non-voting citizen advisor.
In addition to the areas identified above, the commission’s work is focusing on governance, services and infrastructure; workforce; and data and information integration.
