There will be a Charity Softball Game on Sunday, August 4th at 2:00 pm at Munster Community Park, a lead-in event National Night Out Against Crime. Come out to cheer on a number of Munster school teachers and administrators as they take on Munster Police officers and fire fighters in a friendly softball match to raise funds for the Munster High School Best Buddies Club, which provides support to students with special needs and disabilities.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is pleased to present a unique discussion celebrating the historic and contemporary importance of True West to Steppenwolf. For this one-night-only event, Steppenwolf artists involved in the 1982 production join a new generation of Steppenwolf artists from the upcoming 2019 revival for a lively conversation featuring ensemble members Randall Arney, Francis Guinan, Jon Michael Hill, Jeff Perry and Namir Smallwood with ensemble members Glenn Davis and Caroline Neff moderating the discussion. The event will last 60 minutes.

CELEBRATION ACTIVITIES Coming up in early August, the Munster Police Department and Choice Community Council have planned a number of activities for all ages to celebrate this year’s National Night Out Against Crime Week. In addition to our main National Night Out event, we have also added a parade and four days of pre-event activities to build excitement for the event and to get as many of our residents involved as possible.
The International Music Foundation presents the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts. Enjoy free weekly classical music performances in Preston Bradley Hall, located on the 3rd floor of the Chicago Cultural Center.
