On September 7th, the Munster Police Department and Choice Community Council dedicated this summer’s Community Mural Project at the corner of Ridge & Meadow. 

The mural, which was generously designed by talented local artist Carleen O’Connor Rivera, was the result of hard work and dedication by a large number of volunteers who spent many hours at the site throughout the entire summer. 

The Indiana Department of Transportation is in search of dedicated, qualified individuals who want to help serve their fellow Hoosiers this winter. INDOT will host winter seasonal hiring events on Tuesday, September 24, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. local time, at 12 locations across the state.

The Women’s Fund of Porter County, held at the Porter County Community Foundation, is awarding $57,500 in grants to local organizations that meet the needs of women and children. 

Hilltop Neighborhood House and Jacob’s Ladder Pediatric Rehabilitation will receive $25,000 each to support high-impact programs. Parents as Teachers of Porter County, the MAAC Foundation, and The Caring Place will each receive $2,500 for general support.
