Long time spokesperson for the Indiana State Police, Capt. David Bursten, retired June 14th. Though retired from the state police, his service to the State of Indiana will continue with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) where he will serve as the Chief Communications Officer.
Researchers from the University of Tennessee in collaboration with Clemson University are interested in studying the genetics of Callery pear that has escaped cultivation in order to help with future management. These escaped pears cause problems in natural areas as they crowd out native plants.
They need YOUR help collecting samples for their research.
The Indiana State Police Laboratory Division has successfully completed an international accreditation process, which assesses the quality operations and scientific procedures, to add crime scene investigation to the scope of accreditation. The Indiana State Police Regional Laboratories, located in Evansville, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Lowell, have been accredited since 1991.
