It’s Lakeshore Classic time and the Corporate Luncheon will again be awesome! Some of our past speakers have included the likes of Bryce Drew, Gene Keady, Bob Love, Gregg Popovich, Oscar Robertson, Dick Barnett, Ulysses “Junior” Bridgeman, Lloyd McClendon, Mike Huff, LaTroy Hawkins, Kenny Lofton and our 2021 speaker Winston Garland.
On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, 11:30 a.m., at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, Council Oak Steak House, 5400 W. 29th Avenue, Gary we will celebrate our 14th year hosting the Lakeshore Classic Corporate Luncheon.
We are proud to announce our luncheon speaker, a former Gary William A. Wirt High School star, a former player for the Chicago White Sox, and the 1983 AL Rookie of the Year will be Mr. Ron Kittle. A Gary Hometown hero and former star for the Chicago White Sox, Kittle, a power hitting outfielder hit 176 home runs during his stellar 10-year MLB career.
Ron will always be remembered as a popular player on the 1983 “winning ugly” Chicago White Sox when they won 99 games and made their first playoff appearance since the 1959 World Series. Ron also served as general manager of the minor league Schaumburg Flyers. Ron, a much sought-after speaker now works in the community relations department for the White Sox organization.
