Audiences have called this show: Phenominal! Excellent! An incredible experience!
Come hear the story of Indiana newspaper editor Boyd Gurley, who wrote a series of editorials which resulted in the Indianapolis Times receiving a Pulitzer Prize in 1928. Under his leadership the newspaper exposed the corruption and political influence of the Ku Klux Klan leading to the decline of the oroganization in the state and nationally.

The play mirrors the Living Newspaper techniques of the Works Progress Administration when plays were used to inform groups about current events. A lobby display will travel with the play.

Kluckers... is conceived, written and directed by Jim Geisel and performed by Tiemen Godwaldt. It is originially supported by a Heritage Support Grant (provided through the Indiana Historical Society and made possible by Lilly Endowment Inc.), and additional performances are further supported by a grant from the St. Joseph County Community Foundation.

Kluckers provides a valuable insight into a piece of Indiana history and is appropriate for all ages. Audiences may stay after the performance for discussion.
Also, thanks to generous contributions by First Unitarian Church and an anonymous donors, tickets for these expanded performances are discounted.
