Local artists will provide live demos in various media, plus a behind-the-scenes look at Art Barn rarely seen. Galleries will be open during the day for those who wish to enjoy our exhibits or venture outdoors for a picnic in one of our gardens.
Scheduled live-streamed activities include a watercolor demo with Julia Holmaas, clay demos with Harold Woodridge and Gail Woolever in our Ceramic Arts Studio, and a drawing demo with Sharon Angelina in our main classroom. Witness the process of weaving from raw fiber to woven completion with 3 Moons Fiber Works. Watch our Art In Quarantine Awards presentation, and finally a demo on cell phone photography tips & tricks with Steve Bensing. There may even be a unicorn sighting, and a few other surprises along the way!
Art Blitz is the kickoff of the fall educational program of art instruction in drawing, painting, pastel, ceramics, photography as well as our popular summer camps for kids. Art Barn offers both on-line and in-person instruction. The 69-acre Art Barn is particularly suited for in- person classes in full compliance with health requirements. Art instruction is conducted with social distancing, ongoing sanitizing, handwashing protocols and mask requirements being carefully observed.

Art Barn School of Art, housed in a century old renovated barn, is dedicated to fostering the love of art for artists of all ages and abilities in its unique 69-acre environment in Porter County, IN. The Art Barn offers a full range of art education classes for children and adults and is a venue for performing arts and weddings. In the Spring, the Art Barn walls fill floor to ceiling for the annual juried art exhibition (with a 27-year history).
