Canterbury Summer Theatre presents its third musical of the 2025 season, The Mad Ones, performing July 23-August 2.
Written by Kait Kerrigan and Bree Loudermilk, the story centers on Samantha Brown, a high school valedictorian grappling with grief after her best friend Kelly's death in a car accident. The story unfolds through flashbacks, exploring Samantha's senior year and the choices she faces before her next chapter in life.
The title of the musical refers to a passage written by author, Jack Kerouac, in his classic novel, On the Road.
Even before the show began to be licensed for production in 2019, The Mad Ones sold 15,000+ individual pieces of digital sheet music, amassed millions of YouTube views and inspired thousands of fan videos.
