
Get ready, Chicago, for the adventure of a lifetime! After SOLD OUT engagements in Pittsburgh, New York, and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Broadway In Chicago and Session Zero are thrilled to announce the casting for The Twenty-Sided Tavern. Co-creator and writer DAVID ANDREW GREENER LAWS and Co-creator and Game Designer SARAH DAVIS REYNOLDS will lead the cast of The Twenty-Sided Tavern. The production will play a 12-week limited engagement beginning October 27, 2022, through January 15, 2023, at the Broadway Playhouse (175 E. Chestnut).
DAVID ANDREW GREENER LAWS a.k.a. DAGL - Co-creator, writer, and resident Gamemaster (He/They) David has spent the past four years professionally running tabletop role-playing games like D&D for first-time adults, veteran players, and adventurers as young as six years old. His writing has been performed all over the country and internationally. He was part of the writing team for Seize the Show’s award-winning interactive experience, “Saving Wonderland.” As an actor, he has surpassed 300 performances as Macbeth in the off-Broadway hit Drunk Shakespeare.
SARAH DAVIS REYNOLDS - Co-creator, game designer, and resident Tavern Keeper (She/Her)
Sarah Reynolds is a multidisciplinary artist, manager, and facilitator whose work has been seen on Broadway (Slava's Snowshow, Oklahoma!), off-Broadway (Puffs, Rock of Ages, Get On Your Knees), Internationally (Toronto Next Stage Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival), and on Tour (Cruel Intentions, The Stand-In with the American Czech Theatre). She has been designing gameplay experiences in performance spaces for over a decade. She has worked with Gamiotics for over three years, providing extensive development and game design integration on over 25 productions, brand activations, and client experiences. She holds a graduate degree from NYU Steinhardt.

The distinguished creative team for The Twenty-Sided Tavern features direction by NIK WHITCOMB - Resident Director (He/Him). Nik Whitcomb is a director, an experienced facilitator, and the Program Director of the Black Theatre Coalition that has worked with arts institutions across the country, such as Guthrie Theater, Goodman Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Omaha Performing Arts, among others. His directing work has been seen at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Collaboration Theater, Underscore Theatre, The Rose Theater, Benson Theatre, and others. Nik is an Ensemble Member of the Performing Arts Collective at The Union for Contemporary Art and an Associate Member of the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society. The Twenty-Sided Tavern’s production designer is CAITE HEVNER - Production Designer (She/Her). Caite Hevner is a theatrical designer based in NYC. Her designs have been seen on Broadway, off-Broadway, across the United States, and internationally. Caite is a proud member of USA829, who serves as co-chair of the Respectful Workplace Committee and the Accountability Taskforce, and has served on Broadway, off-Broadway, and LORT negotiating committees. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University, Ramapo College, and Fordham University and has been a lecturer/guest speaker at many institutions, including New York University, University of Maryland, University of the Arts, Webster University, San Diego State University, Florida State University, The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, and Berklee College of Music. Caite has taught master classes, including with the Broadway Teachers Workshop, and has created free courses on theatrical design available online to educators and students through Artful Resources. She has been a panelist on curated conversations with HowlRound, has appeared on several episodes of “In 1: the podcast,” and has presented at conferences, including LDI, where she presented on the fusion of analog and digital art on the stage. Caite holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, a Graduate Certificate from Yale School of Drama, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University.
Props & Costume Design for The Twenty-Sided Tavern is by KATIE MCGEORGE - Scenic & Costume Designer (She/Her). Katie McGeorge creates environments for theatre, television, and immersive experiences. After earning her BFA in theatrical design from Ithaca College, she began making props and puppets for NYC theatre, working with Sleep No More, The Public Theater, and Theatre for a New Audience, as well as on live events, such as NY Fashion Week, and The Brooklyn Artists Ball at the Brooklyn Museum. During the pandemic theatre shutdown, she shifted her focus to film and television work. She has since worked as a set dresser on Netflix’s “Dating Around” and various advertising projects with White Castle, WarnerMedia, and Mattel. She now works regularly as Art Director on College Humor’s actual play show, Dimension 20. She’s thrilled to be working on another TTRPG project and exploring this exciting niche! The score of The Twenty-Sided Tavern was written by BENJAMIN DOHERTY – Composer (He/Him).
Benjamin Doherty is a composer for film, TV, and multimedia productions. While freelancing as a composer, he also graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2020 with a First Class Honours in Creative Music Production. Recent work includes: the DBK Studios produced ‘‘Fields’’ in association with Sky Arts, a short film that’s part of the “Unearthed Narratives” anthology, and the Sundance Institute-supported short film, “The Original Shareholder Experience.” Benjamin has received multiple awards from international film festivals, most recently winning “Best Soundtrack” at the Oniros New York Awards and “Best Original Score” at the Red Movie Awards for the film “Hunting Bears” (2021). Other awards include ‘‘Best Score’’ at the Hollywood Film Competition for the short ‘‘7 Minutes’’, and ‘‘Best Original Score’’ at the Independent Shorts Awards for the short “Storytellers”. Benjamin's collaboration with The Twenty-Sided Tavern marks his first venture into scoring for theatre.
The Twenty-Sided Tavern is produced by DAVID CARPENTER, CEO (He/Him). David Carpenter has spent 22 years in media and entertainment. He is an experienced Off-Broadway and Broadway producer, Multiplatform content developer and has worked extensively in sales and marketing. David is currently the Founder and CEO of Gamiotics, Inc., which is bringing audience engagement technology to the live entertainment market and powering the next generation of experiential entertainment. He is proud to be a partner and CEO with Session Zero LLC, Sarah Davis Reynolds, and David Andrew Laws. He was the lead Producer of the 2019 Broadway run of the critically acclaimed Slava’s Snowshow. Executive Producer of the helmed off-Broadway hit comedy: Puffs, which ran in NYC for three years and is now the #2 most produced play in the country. Additional credits include Executive Producer of Puffs: Filmed Live Off-Broadway and released nationally through Fathom Events. Producer of Puffs in Australia for two years in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane and the Publisher of all four editions of the Puffs script. He is a former DreamWorks Theatricals Executive overseeing Shrek the Musical sales operations.
