Now approaching the 14th anniversary of a notable stage revival, Chicago and LA Theatre Veteran Darryl Maximilian Robinson Shares Stage Notes On A 2011 55th Anniversary Revival of Playwright Kyle Crichton's Rarely Produced "The Happiest Millionaire."
In 2011, the West Coast's popular Glendale Centre Theatre of Glendale, Ca. ( California's Family Fun Theatre ) presented a 55th Anniversary Revival Production of Kyle Crichton's rollicking, but seldom-produced romantic comedy "THE HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE."
The revival was produced by Brenda and Tim Dietlein, directed by Mario Di Gregorio and featured a cast that included: Paul Michael Nieman as Mr. Anthony J. Drexel-Biddle, Andrea Stradling as Mrs. Anthony J. Drexel-Biddle, Brian Alexander as Angier Duke, Samantha Claire as Cordelia Biddle, Eric Mello as Tony Biddle, Robert Altepeter as Livingston Biddle, Dynell Leigh as Aunt Mary Drexel, Bridget Pugliese as Cousin Lucy Rittenhouse, Libby West as Mrs. Benjamin Duke, Marco Tazioli as Joe Mancuso, Krista Taylor as Emma, James Betteridge as O'Malley, Paul Reid as Charlie Taylor and Darryl Maximilian Robinson as the butler John Lawless.
Set and Lighting Design were by Mr. Dietlein, Costumes by Angela Wood, Sound Design was by Andrew Villaverde, and Don Woodruff served as Assistant to the Director. Mr. Reid served as Production Stage Manager. The revival was performed in-the-round at The GCT May 12th through June 18th of 2011.
