Chicago Fire FC defender Joel Waterman has been called up by the Canada Men’s National Team ahead of their September friendly matches against Romania and Wales from Sept. 5-9.
Canada will travel to Europe to face Romania for the first time in any competition on Friday, Sept. 5 at Arena Națională in the capital city of Bucharest, Days later, the CANMNT will head west to face Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium in Swansea on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Waterman has previously earned 10 caps for the senior men’s national team, featuring in several friendlies and Concacaf Nations League matches. He was also a member of Canada’s 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup squad, as well as the 2024 Copa America and 2022 FIFA World Cup rosters.
