The nonprofit Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA) is proud to announce fall programming that encourages economic development and events that celebrate Latinx culture within the Rogers Park community. Programming includes traditional Mexican holiday celebrations, such as a Mexican Independence Day Celebration that kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, and business support programs that uplift and educate local entrepreneurs. Mexican Independence Day Celebration
Wednesday, September 16th, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
GROW/PROGRESANDO entrepreneurial training center, 7056 N. Clark St., and various participating businesses along Clark Street
The State-Designated Cultural District, Camino Clark, will host a Mexican Independence Day Celebration throughout the corridor, which spans approximately two miles from Howard Street to Devon Avenue. Beginning at the entrepreneurial center (7056 N. Clark St.), participants can pick up complimentary tote bags filled with promotional items, offers, and treats from participating businesses, then explore Camino Clark. Participating businesses will also have special promotions during the celebration. A mariachi band, Mariachi Mexico Lindo, will travel along Clark Street to perform for attendees at multiple businesses from 4-5:30 p.m. For more information and the mariachi band schedule, visit rpba.org.
Get Ready to Grow business training program
Beginning September 24th, sessions meet every Thursday through November 12th, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

GROW/PROGRESANDO entrepreneurial training center’s free, virtual 8-week business training program, Get Ready to Grow, is a foundational training designed for future entrepreneurs to learn the basics of developing a business idea, writing a business plan, and establishing a business. Students will explore and learn about a wide range of topics, including Business Model Development, Marketing, Risk Management, and more. GROW/PROGRESANDO entrepreneurial center (7056 N. Clark St.) offers free business training services in both English and Spanish year-round to provide support and resources for local business owners to thrive. Día de los Muertos Celebration
Sunday, November 1st, 4 p.m.
Intersection of Clark Street and Estes Avenue
Camino Clark will host a Día de los Muertos Celebration on Sunday, November 1st, which will feature public art, cultural traditions, and community participation while highlighting businesses throughout the corridor. In the days leading up to the celebration, artist Yosmer Urrieta will create five temporary window murals at participating businesses, forming a public art walk along Camino Clark. A community Día de los Muertos ofrenda (altar) will also be installed at the GROW/PROGRESANDO entrepreneurial center (7056 N. Clark St.), where residents and visitors can honor the memory of loved ones. The centerpiece of the celebration will be a Camino Clark Catrina Parade, beginning at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Clark Street and Estes Avenue, where community members and large-scale Día de los Muertos-inspired puppets will walk along the Clark Street sidewalk in vibrant traditional costumes and makeup, celebrating passed loved ones.
Live Love Shop Rogers Park Holiday Shopping Campaign
Sunday, November 1st through Thursday, December 31st
The annual Live Love Shop Rogers Park holiday shopping rebate program returns, now available throughout November and December to support local businesses during the entire holiday season. Live Love Shop Rogers Park is a shop-local campaign that helps support small businesses against competition from big-box stores throughout the vital holiday shopping season. The rebate program incentivizes holiday shoppers to shop in Rogers Park by rewarding patrons with up to $75 in rebates. As part of the Live Love Shop Rogers Park campaign, Rogers Park Business Alliance will host a Small Business Saturday celebration on Saturday, November 28th, with a Welcome Station at Callan Plaza, 621 Howard Street, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., where shoppers can take advantage of special offers, goodies, and more from participating businesses.
