White County – On November 7, 2025, just after 4:00 a.m., Indiana State Police troopers responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 65 southbound near the 197-mile marker.

A preliminary investigation by Trooper Decker revealed that a 2018 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling southbound in the right lane of Interstate 65, while a 2020 Hino box truck was traveling in the left lane. For an unknown reason, the Hino moved into the right lane and struck the trailer of the Freightliner. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder of the interstate following the collision.

The passenger of the Hino was pronounced deceased at the scene by the White County Coroner’s Office. The victim’s name will be released once proper identification has been made and next of kin have been notified.

Both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Hino was identified as Richard Amadi, 64, of Arlington, Texas, and the driver of the Freightliner was identified as Ehab Hamza, 43, of Palos Hills, Illinois.

Trooper Decker was assisted at the scene by troopers from the Lafayette Post, the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, the White County Sheriff’s Office, the White County Coroner’s Office, Wolcott Fire and EMS, and other first responders.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
