
Music Theater Works has a hit with its latest production at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie.
“Fiddler” on the Roof,” one of the most beloved plays in musical theater history, runs through Aug. 17 at the Center. In the hands of the talented ensemble cast of Music Theater Works, “Fiddler on the Roof” soars with powerful vocals and captivating dance numbers.
The show tells the story of Tevye, who is a hardworking milkman in the Russian town of Anatevka. In the show, we learn of the everyday lives, problems and changes in Tevye’ s family and in this humble Jewish community. Tevye is dealing with an assortment of problems when we meet him, including finding “matches” or husbands for his daughters.

Throughout the production, the spotlight is also focused on religious topics, Jewish customs, community traditions and more.
The show is directed by L. Walter Stearns and features strong choreography by Maria Lampert.
Sam Nachison portrays a perfect Tevye. Nachison's vocals are dynamic throughout the show. Also starring in the show are Mitzi Smith as Golde; Madison Uphoff as Tzeitel; Elissa Newcorn as Hodel; Madison Jaffe-Richter as Chava; Sara Stern as Yente; Nathan Kabara as Motel; Jacob Simon as Perchik; Jake Mickel as Fyedka; David Servillo as Lazar Wolf; and others.

Among highlighted numbers in this energetic performance are “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset” and “To Life.”
Audiences will definitely leave singing the tunes from this captivating musical.
