
Footlight Theater is pleased to announce their March production: A Night of Old Tyme Radio Comedy featuring Alien Invasion. Directed by Laura Meyer, the show will run the second and third weekends of March. On stage, Footlight will bring you eleven 1940’s actors in studio at a radio station, where they are producing a radio show complete with on-stage sound effects, live commercial jingles, and live musical selections. The cast includes: Jamie Anderson, Angela Barretto, Rick Henderson, Layla Koyama, Jim Lampl, Kim Lampl, Tom LeDonne, Christine Long, Thom Nelson, Lexie Passmore, and Susan Ransom.
In Alien Invasion (Book by Ryan Neely, music by Brent Bain, lyrics by Ryan Neely. Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Denver, Colorado,) we hear radio coverage as our community is invaded by Martians, and our locals fight back! One cast member described it as, “if War of the Worlds was done on Saturday Night, Live!”

The crew involved has Diana Hirsch as Assistant Director, Bobbi Ann Lauritsen as producer, and Set Dresser is Alayna Lauritsen. Christopher West is designing lights with Declan Rice designing sound. Sharon Kienitz’s wonderful costume designs are complemented by Kathy Chase’s hair and makeup designs.
Performances of A Night of Old Tyme Radio Comedy featuring Alien Invasion will run March 8-10 and 14-17. Thursday and Friday shows are at 7:30pm; Saturday and Sunday shows are at 2pm. Footlight Players perform at Footlight Theater at 1705 Franklin Street in Michigan City, Indiana. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children. All seats are $12 for the Thursday show. Auditions for The Lost Boy directed by Lara West and Larry Piotrowski are scheduled for Saturday, March 2 at 3pm, and Sunday, March 3 at 6pm inside the theatre.
