Holiday Season Safety Reminders

  1. Home

Mon, 12/07/2020 - 4:51pm by laughingcat

Residents will see an increase in the number of police officers making traffic stops, initiating field contacts, and stopping in at local businesses to check on their employees.  We continue to encourage residents to keep your homes well-lit during the evening hours, and to talk with your trusted neighbors about looking out for each other and contacting police when suspicious activity is observed.

In addition, if you will be leaving town for the holidays please call our Records Division at 219-836-6650. Our patrol officers and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) will be made aware of your absence and frequently check on vacation homes at the request of residents.

Please call 911 to report suspicious activity right away to police.
