Third-ranked Indiana turned in another dominant performance, cruising to a 38-13 win over Michigan State in front of 55,165 fans at Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium. With the win, IU improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play and kept the Old Brass Spittoon in Bloomington.
Quarterback Fernando Mendoza was exceptional, throwing for 332 yards and four touchdowns while completing 24 of 28 passes. Omar Cooper Jr. was Saturday’s top target, finishing with a team-high eight receptions for 115 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter.
After surrendering 10 points on MSU’s first two drives of the game, IU’s defense stymied the Spartans the rest of the way. Stephen Daley and Rolijah Hardy each recorded two sacks, and Louis Moore led IU with 11 tackles.
The Hoosiers return home next Saturday for a match-up with UCLA. Game time remains TBD. The game is sold out, but fans can still explore secondary ticket market options such as SeatGeek below.
