Lafayette, IN – The Indiana State Police Lafayette District increased patrols over the Halloween weekend to help ensure safe roadways and target impaired and reckless drivers.

During the enforcement period, troopers conducted 194 traffic stops, investigated 12 crashes, and handled 70 additionals calls for service. Enforcement efforts resulted in multiple arrests and citations, including:

  • Driver’s License Offenses: 4
  • Operating While Intoxicated (OWI): 4
  • Drug-Related Arrests: 6
  • Reckless Driving/Speed Contest Violations: 2
  • Warrant Arrests: 1

Troopers concentrated their efforts on identifying and removing impaired and reckless drivers from Indiana roadways. Increased patrols were part of an ongoing effort to reduce crashes and enhance safety through high-visibility enforcement.

The Indiana State Police reminds all motorists to drive responsibly — never operate a vehicle while impaired and always obey posted speed limits. Safety on Indiana’s roads depends on every driver making responsible choices.
