Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter recently announced the promotion of Trooper Rachel Dykstra to the position of detective with the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Detective Dykstra will be assigned to the Cybercrime and Investigative Technologies Section where she will be conducting investigations. Detective Dykstra earned this promotion through a competitive selection process.

Detective Dykstra is a 3-year veteran of the Indiana State Police. She is a 2011 graduate of Crown Point High School and a 2015 graduate of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. She earned a bachelor’s degree, triple majoring in International Studies, Political Science and German.

In December of 2019, Detective Dykstra graduated from the 79th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Lowell Post where she worked as a road patrol trooper assigned to Lake County.  Prior to becoming a trooper, she was a dispatcher for the Lowell post for two years. During her career, Dykstra has served the state police as a member of the marijuana eradication team, crash reconstruction apprentice, background investigator, state fair detail, and has been an ISP summer camp counselor.

Detective Dykstra resides in Porter County with her husband, Corey Adam, who is also an Indiana State Trooper.
