Last November, Lyric Opera of Chicago announced plans for a significant renovation and improvement project in Lyric's Ardis Krainik Theatre—one of the most ambitious improvement projects in the company's history. This project includes replacement of all of the theater’s seats, a restructuring of the sightlines on the main floor of the house, and greatly enhanced accessibility and overall guest experience.
This summer, the Lyric Opera House seats were removed with strict safety guidelines from the city and state followed throughout the process. Lyric's new seats were delivered to the Opera House yesterday and will await installation in the coming weeks. Images have been taken throughout this historic and significant renovation process and are available at Lyric's online Press Room.
