What defines someone as being a Silent Hero? They are the members of the team who provide support and work behind the scenes to get things done. They are the quiet workhorses who don't complain, but who rarely appear in the spotlight. These teammates often get overlooked because they care more about their work than their ego. And they make things happen without fanfare or expectation of reward.
Ofc. Dean has worked for the Department of Correction since 2017 as a Correctional Officer. Prior to DOC, Ofc. Dean worked for the Madison State Hospital. Warden Jan Davis stated, "Ofc. Dean will work any post without complaint and seems to truly enjoy working in corrections." Ofc. Dean can usually be found working at the Rear Entry/Exit point or transporting work release offenders to their places of employment.

Ofc. Sharon Dean receives Silent Hero Award.
