The pursuit traveled west on Sagamore Parkway, reaching speeds well in excess of the posted limit, before entering the City of West Lafayette. Dilden made multiple attempts to evade Trooper Brown, at one time traveling through an empty Walgreens parking lot, after turning north onto Salisbury Street. That led the pursuit back onto Sagamore Parkway, where Dilden turned west, and then made an immediate U-turn to go back east.
The pursuit exited off of Sagamore Parkway and onto Happy Hollow Road. After traveling down Happy Hollow Road, Dilden turned south onto N. River Road, and traveled approximately 1 mile before giving up near the intersection of State Street. With the assistance of WLPD officers, Dilden was taken into custody. He was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail, and booked on the following preliminary charges:
-Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Level 6 Felony
-Reckless Driving, Class B Misdemeanor
Trooper Brown was assisted by Trooper Jared McQueary, Trooper Mason Wiley, officers from the West Lafayette PD, and Jim's Garage.
All charges listed are merely accusations, and final charges will be decided by the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office. Criminal defendants listed above are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
