Munster Police Officers Wearing Blue Badges for Autism Awareness Month

  1. Home

Sat, 04/12/2025 - 9:28pm by laughingcat

Throughout Autism Awareness in Month (April) Munster Police officers are being encouraged to wear blue badges (as pictured) to show their support for our residents with autism. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent challenges in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. Autism affects 1 in 36 children in the United States each year.

The blue badges were sponsored for our officers by the Choice Community Council of Munster. Please join us in encouraging our community to continue to accept, respect, and include all residents with special needs and disabilities. For more information about autism, please visit www.autismspeaks.org
