SPF today announced it will bring its brand-new 40,000 square-foot pickleball, dining and entertainment concept to Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood this winter. The space will be the city’s largest indoor facility with dedicated pickleball courts, including state-of-the-art amenities and new dining options by hometown-favorite Chicago restaurant partners. Located at 2121 N. Clybourn Ave, SPF is slated to open the first phase of the facility this winter.
Designed to serve as a year-round recreation, entertainment and community hub, SPF’s first phase will include eight dedicated indoor pickleball courts with instant replay technology, an indoor turf field with space for additional games, events and programming and guest amenities including spacious locker rooms complete with saunas and showers. SPF will also host the Cucumber Club for children ages 3 through 11, including tennis and pickleball camps, lessons, special events and more.

“When designing SPF, we set out to create an experience that is very uniquely Chicago, while giving guests a space to stay active and engaged with friends and family throughout the year,” said Richard Green, SPF Partner. “We can’t wait to open our doors to this incredible community and offer a new way for sports and recreation enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to stay active, have fun and relax, all under one roof.”
Bringing new food options to the neighborhood, SPF has partnered with a variety of Chicago-favorite chefs and restauranteurs, including Honey Butter Fried Chicken founders Josh Kulp and Christine Cikowski, along with former Galit chef de cuisine, Tom Carlin. In addition, SPF’s coffee bar will feature Kikwetu Coffee, a family-owned Chicago-based coffee brand born in Kenya. SPF’s first phase will include a full-service coffee bar complete with all-day café items.
SPF is proud to also partner with several local companies focused on the growth of pickleball in Chicago and beyond. Toss & Spin, founded by Chris Clark, has designed a new, holistic program centered on lessons and clinics to encourage the development of beginner and advanced players alike, while ProXR Pickleball will bring its innovation in paddle technology to SPF to further enhance the game experience.
