Footlight Players is pleased to present “Proof” by David Auburn
Catherine is an enigmatic woman with a brilliant father, and an unanticipated suitor. After the discovery of a groundbreaking proof, Catherine is confronted with the question of how much of her mathematician father’s brilliance did she inherit – and is that the only thing he passed on to her?
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, David Auburn’s Proof is a moving exploration of the nature of genius, women in mathematics, and father-daughter relationships. Directed by Alexander Bonner, the cast includes Jillian Davison (Catherine), Auriel Lark Felsecker (Catherine US), John Hutchinson (Robert), Cai McClure (Hal), and Lisa Mahaffa Thompson (Claire). Auriel Lark Felsecker will be playing the role of Catherine for both Saturday performances. Lara West serves as the Assistant director with Bobbi Ann Lauritsen producing the show.
Proof plays at Footlight Theater, 1705 Franklin St. in Michigan City on February 7-9 and 13-16. Thursday and Friday performances begin at 7pm and Saturday and Sunday performances beginning at 2pm. Tickets are $17 and may be purchased at footlightplayers.org. If available, tickets may also be purchased at the box office starting 2 hours before each performance.
