Fountain County – On June 30, 2023, troopers from the Lafayette Post conducted a saturation patrol in Fountain County searching for dangerous and impaired drivers. During the patrol, troopers issued 48 citations and 16 warnings. Troopers also arrested two subjects for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and drug-related charges.
Arrested and preliminary charges:
1. Shon Burnett, 31, from Indianapolis, IN
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated – Endangerment – Class A Misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana – Class B Misdemeanor
- Operating a vehicle While Intoxicated – with a Controlled Substance – Class C Misdemeanor
2. Kwenton Eldridge, 29, from Danville, IL
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Passenger Less Than 18 Years of Age – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Marijuana- Prior – Class A Misdemeanor
The Indiana State Police is committed to traffic safety and will continue to conduct saturation patrols to locate and apprehend impaired drivers. We would like to remind the public to designate a sober driver or utilize ride-sharing companies.

The arrests listed above were investigated by Trooper Smith and Trooper Howell, and both troopers were assisted by Trooper Fulfer, who is a Drug Recognition Expert.
