Registration for SNOWFLURRY 2024, which is held as an extension of the Munster Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program each year, is open through this Thursday, February 1st for fifth grade students at Eads, Elliott, Frank Hammond, St. Thomas More, and St. Paul’s Lutheran School only. Permission slips were provided several weeks ago to homeroom teachers for them to distribute to students.
Our event will be held in mid-March and focuses on the subjects of drug prevention, bullying prevention, and the importance of treating others with respect. During the event, fifth graders will receive a commemorative t-shirt, play games, work on crafts, have snacks, participate in small group peer mentoring, watch skits, sign each others’ t-shirts, and more. The event ends with a closing ceremony for parents to attend. The date, time and location of the event is listed on the permission slip that was provided to students.
Please encourage your fifth grader to participate in Snowflurry this year. If you have any questions or need another permission slip copy, please contact DARE Officer James Ghrist at 219-836-6639 or jghrist@munster.org or you can also contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
