
Tippecanoe County – On August 24, 2025, just after 8:00 a.m., Indiana State Police Trooper Fike was patrolling Interstate 65 near the 172-mile marker when he stopped a 2019 Audi S5 for traveling over 130 miles per hour in a posted 65-mph zone.
The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as Anthony Lane, 21, of Monticello, IN. During the course of the traffic stop, Trooper Fike developed information leading him to believe that Lane was under the influence of alcohol. Lane was taken into custody and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.

2. Reckless Driving – Class C Misdemeanor
Traveling at such extreme speeds poses a serious threat to everyone on the roadway. When alcohol impairment is added to the equation, the risk of a catastrophic crash becomes even greater. The Indiana State Police emphasizes that reckless and impaired driving will not be tolerated, and violators will be held accountable.
