
This is a notice that IDNR Community and Urban Forestry program intends to release a new round of grant funding mid-summer 2026.
Administered by the Indiana DNR Community & Urban Forestry program, this funding is available through the USDA Forest Service Urban & Community Forestry Program.
There are two different grant opportunities which will be available. Please be sure to read the instructions for each grant carefully.
Grant Opportunities:
• Community & Urban Forestry Assistance (CUFA) Grant (Minimum $1,000-Maximum $25,000)
• Small Town Big Trees Grant (for communities with a population of 10,000 or less) (Minimum $ 500-Maximum $5,000)
Communities interested in applying should note the following:
- There is a 1:1 match requirement for all grant opportunities.
- Indiana municipalities, townships, tribal governments, counties, park districts, and 501c3 not-for-profit organizations are eligible to apply.
- Grant funds are awarded on a reimbursable basis.
- Grant applications are expected to release mid-summer 2026.
