Sat, 10/17/2020 - 2:14pm by laughingcat

The video, entitled Elements & Emotions of Music is a 45-minute presentation created by Rick DeJonge, the LCSO’s Guest Conductor of the Children’s Concerts for the past two seasons. Mr. DeJonge weaves the elements of music with performances by both the LCSO and a small ensemble. There is an accompanying education guide prepared by Megan Sullivan of La Porte Middle School that corresponds with the video as well as offering Indiana State Standards as well as classroom activities.

Both the Elements & Emotions of Music video and education guide can be found here.

“It is our hope that these offerings will be shared with elementary educators, not only throughout the state of Indiana, but throughout the country,” said LCSO Executive Director, Tim King. “Educators need resources like what we are offering, especially during this unprecedented time.  Our goal is to make these offerings available from coast to coast.”  The Elements & Emotions of Music is also available for viewing on the LCSO’s YouTube channel.
