The Village of Bloomingdale today announced the official site plans, logo and first tenant for The Grove at Bloomingdale, a vibrant new $78 million mixed-use development that will bring dining, shopping, entertainment and residential living to the heart of Bloomingdale. Opening in 2027, The Grove’s first official tenant is Bloomingdale Yard, a 100,000 square-foot indoor sports and family recreation destination offering year-round programming for children and adults.
The Grove marks a major milestone in Bloomingdale’s ongoing revitalization efforts, transforming the former Stratford Square Mall site into a dynamic, community-centered destination shaped directly by resident feedback. The project stems from a comprehensive redevelopment plan launched by the Village in September 2024. The plan was informed by extensive community engagement over the past several years, including a 2022 resident survey, public forums and open Village Board discussions. This collaborative input played a meaningful role in shaping the vision for The Grove, ensuring the development enhances quality of life, fosters economic growth and attracts new visitors to Bloomingdale for generations to come.

The Grove’s new logo is rooted in the natural beauty of Bloomingdale, drawing inspiration from the white ash tree characteristic to the local landscape and serving as a symbol of strength growth and community connection. Gold and green accents echo the village’s lush landscape, capturing its vibrant foliage and warm, welcoming character. This blend of refined and inviting design mirrors exactly what The Grove will offer: a place to gather, explore, relax and play.
As The Grove’s first official tenant, indoor sports and recreation complex Bloomingdale Yard will offer a robust variety of sports programming including leagues and training for soccer and football. The facility will also offer a full-service childcare center, after-school sports, birthday party packages and an interactive playroom for young children. The Yard companies began in 2010 with Westmont Yard, followed by Naperville Yard in 2016 and Milwaukee Yard in 2021. Westmont Yard and Naperville Yard each attract approximately 260,000 visitors annually, underscoring community demand for family-centered recreation and childcare offerings.
“The Grove represents the next chapter in Bloomingdale’s growth — a place where families, friends, and visitors can come together to live, dine, shop and celebrate,” said Mayor Franco Coladipietro. “Bloomingdale Yard is a strong debut tenant, offering programs and experiences that reflect the vibrancy and community focus at the heart of The Grove, and we look forward to announcing many more tenants as this project comes to life."
Developed in partnership with Segovia Partners, Gravity Architecture & Design, Peak Construction Corporation and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, The Grove will feature a distinctive blend of amenities and gathering spaces that bring people together year-round. Highlights of the development include a large man-made lake accented by water features, artistic seating and lush landscaping; a central lawn designed for concerts, festivals and outdoor events that will transform into an ice rink during the winter months; a mix of dining, entertainment and retail tenants; 280 modern luxury residences; a dedicated dog park with a walk-up bar offering bites and brews; and open-air, street-level parking. The district will also include outdoor common areas where guests can enjoy beverages from The Grove’s bars and restaurants while strolling the property or attending its events, further enhancing the walkable, community-focused feel of the space.
