Art in Focus continues on Monday, May 16th at 10:00 am with a virtual presentation that gives audiences a close-up look at the 48th Annual Tri-County Jr/Sr High School Exhibition.  The Tri-County Exhibit features over 500 pieces of work presented from floor to ceiling in the Main Gallery of South Shore Arts, from Junior and Senior High Schools in Northwest Indiana and south suburban Chicago.  This year's juror, Hannah Hammond-Hagman had the difficult job of awarding over $8,000 in prizes to students in the exhibition.

Art in Focus will have an interactive presentation to allow for a closer look at the exhibit.  Visit https://www.southshoreartsonline.org/#/art-in-focus-2/ to learn more about Art in Focus and to access the presentation on Monday, May 16th.

Art in Focus is an exploration of the arts through film, lecture and thoughtful dialogue. Art in Focus is for adult learners of all ages who are interested in the arts and their impact on the world.  Founded in 1996 by Rita M. Ray, South Shore Arts continues this series annually with a variety of topics and guest speakers. Several lectures will coincide with upcoming Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra concerts and South Shore Arts exhibits. An important aspect of the program is the thoughtful dialogue between the program facilitator, the guest speakers and the attendees to broaden views of the arts and individuals in our world. Our goal parallels that of the U.S. Department of Education, “Learning Never Ends.” Art in Focus is open to the public and, thanks to generous support from Community Healthcare System, it is always free.
