About HERitage emBODYment:
HERitage emBODYment is a culturally-informed, community-engaged artist ensemble centering Egypt and Nubia. A National Theatre Project Awardee, this unique and exciting project will begin its national tour in May 2026, as Sekhmet Unraveled

About this FREE Event:
Ahead of the national tour, Dr. Sarah Fahmy and Nabra Nelson, Co-Founders of HERitage emBODYment, will perform excerpts from the show and discuss how museum collections from New York to Chicago to San Francisco helped inspire the show. Participants will learn about the acquisition and legacies of Egyptian and Nubian artifacts in American museums. Following the performance, the audience will be invited to reflect on how museums impact their perceptions of culture and antiquity.

When: Friday, February 13, at 6:30 PM

Where: Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures,
1155 E 58th Street, Chicago
