The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced that their 2020 season is suspended to due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening Day, originally scheduled for May 22nd, was initially postponed on April 21st.
LAKE COUNTY- This morning (6/12/2020) at 3:45 a.m., Trooper W. Carlson was on patrol along I-65 in Lake County. Trp. Carlson was parked in the crossover at the 261 mile-marker actively looking for a vehicle that had been involved in an earlier pursuit.
Indiana Commissioner of Labor Rick Ruble has informed Gov. Eric J. Holcomb that after 23 years of public service he will step down from his position at the end of July.
LAKE COUNTY- This morning (6/12/2020) at 12:00 a.m., Trooper W. Stancy was dispatched to a multiple vehicle crash on I-80/94 eastbound lanes at the 4 mile-marker.
Residents have most likely noticed by now that a new traffic light has been installed on Main Street in between White Oak Avenue and Fox Run Lane to aid in the safer crossing for bicyclists, walkers, and joggers along the bicycle trail in that area.
With the summer months now here, we would like to remind our residents about Munster’s Town Ordinance in regards to the use of fireworks
On Sunday, June 7th the Munster Police & Fire Departments participated in a parade which honored the 2020 graduates of Munster High School.
Over 300 high school students participated in the parade, which proceeded down Columbia Avenue and through the football stadium. Congratulations to all of this year’s graduates and wish them the best of luck for the future.
