Porter County- This morning (6/4/2020) at 7:40 a.m., Troopers responded to a personal injury crash on I-94 east near mile-marker 26. Preliminary investigation by Senior Trooper Jerry George indicates that a white 2020 Freightliner pulling an enclosed box trailer was partially in the far right lane and partially on the right shoulder. The truck is owned by West Side Transport of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was driven by Derrell V. Taylor, 32, from Steger, IL.

Recovery of the body of Anthony Cohn, a swimmer who went missing at Bass Lake on June 2, has been made. At approximately 6 a.m. today (6/4/2020), members of the Bass Lake Fire Department located Cohn’s body while searching near the area where he was last seen.
The 2020 Non-Equity Jeff Awards program has been postponed. Originally scheduled as a virtual gathering for Monday, June 8, the organization that promotes and recognizes theater excellence has joined other arts industry groups to pause events during this time of unrest throughout the country. Plans for rescheduling will be announced at a later date to celebrate productions of the 2019-2020 season.
