Historically, last week was when we honor Correctional Employees. Due to COVID-19, we were not able to have as many of the activities as we normally schedule for Correctional Professionals Appreciation Week. Correctional Employees are considered essential staff, and throughout this pandemic, our employees continue to come into work everyday and protect our students and the public.
Program staff and offender volunteers aide in ensuring all staff and offenders have personal protection equipment needed by making masks. Program Director Mary Saegesser kicked off the project with community outreach staff Luz McNally, Community Involvement Coordinator Lyndsey Lane, and offender volunteers on April 6th, 2020.
Governor Eric Holcomb today announced the four winners of the 2020 Governor’s STEM Team awards. Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship, courtesy of the College Choice 529 Program administered by Treasurer of State Kelly Mitchell.
