About Munster’s Choice Community Council

  1. Home

Fri, 02/12/2021 - 2:24pm by laughingcat

Meetings are usually held quarterly in January, April, July, and October at the Munster Town Hall.

The Choice Community Council supports or helps to plan programs each year such as:

• Munster’s National Night Out Against Crime Celebration (Ranked #1 in the U.S. last year!)

• Police & Fire Charity Softball Event

• Women’s Self-Defense Classes

• Munster Neighborhood & Business Crime Watch Programs (signs, brochures, etc.)

• Munster Dog Walker Watch Program • Past speakers for the public on subjects such as human trafficking, bullying, suicide prevention, drug addiction, and more

Please note that some of these programs were not held last year or were held in a different way due to the ongoing health situation, however, we have continued to try to provide our programs and events when we can in a safe manner.

The Choice Community Council will be meeting soon (virtually) on a date to be determined. If you are interested in helping to plan our community policing and crime prevention programs this year, please contact Officer James Ghrist at 219-836-6639 or jghrist@munster.org.

Thank you to the great group of residents who continue to support the group’s efforts in Munster.
