The acute rehabilitation units of Powers Health have been reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart and Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point pair excellence in rehabilitation medicine with forward-looking programs to inspire hope, promote independence and get patients back home. The highly skilled rehabilitation team helps patients recover from serious accidents, surgery or illness to regain everyday skills.
Founded in 1966, CARF International is an independent nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, including medical rehabilitation.
The three-year reaccreditations from CARF represent the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving accreditation has undergone a rigorous peer review process. It also has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality.
