Doors falling out of their jams, actors forgetting their lines and missed light cues might sound like a theater failure but it’s all part of the fun for Bishop Noll’s Drama Club this November.
The club will present the comedy “The Play That Goes Wrong” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 18 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 19. The play within a play is full of nonstop laughs. Watch as these Bishop Noll students take the roles of a local community theater group known as the Cornley Drama Society. The society attempts to put on a murder mystery but the show seems plagued by accidental disasters.
This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone actors battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences. Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!
All shows are in the Bishop Noll Auditorium, 1519 Hoffman St. in Hammond. Enter Door C. Tickets, on sale now, cost $10 if purchased in advance online. Visit bishopnoll.org for the ticket link or visit:
